FKJ! (Top 5 Concert Ever)

First things first. This blog post is really just an attempt to describe the live performance but really I have no complete thoughts or words that can fully describe that show.

I remember when I first came across his music. I think it came up randomly on my Spotify and I was hooked. I listened to his FKJ EP probably 10 times that week. It was almost serendipitous because right when I was finding his music, I noticed that he was going to be performing in Seattle. I think he was a Thursday night at Crocodile in downtown Seattle. I tried to find a ticket online on stub hub, Facebook, craigslist, and the rest of them. This was the first show I have ever seen where nobody was re-selling tickets.

That experienced definitively heightened my pre-hype during the days leading up to the show.

This last Saturday was one for the ages. FKJ performed at the Showbox Market in downtown Seattle and it was more than amazing. I have to be so many live shows but something about this one was special to me. Walking into the show the atmosphere was the perfect blend of relaxation, energy, and vibes. After a couple of drinks our mini squad settled in at a spot on the back of the center part of the dance floor.

Then three projector screens came down right in front of the stage to show a series of images and silhouettes and then the music started for:

FKJ is a straight up musical genius and it was evident to see. There were numerous times the whole crowd was speechless with wide eyes just staring at him on the keys. Then there were other times when the whole crowd was singing along.

One person having this much musical talent isn’t fair. He can play so many instruments and he can loop them into a full song at the same time. He is creating, producing, engineering, and mastering all live by himself.

He is a true artist. I have been to ShowBox Market at least 15 times and never have I seen a stage set up like that. It wasn’t even that much of anything but the fact that it was unique is what impressed me. As mentioned earlier, he had three transparent projector screens and he was projecting various images on throughout the show. I appreciated all of these extra touches.

I feel blessed to have seen him live. I think the show gave me one more year to add to my life expectancy. This was definitely a TOP 5 CONCERT Ever FOR ME!

His live sets are something of magic. if you haven’t already seen this one you should check it out. He performs a full live set all by himself on a salt rock in Bolivia for http://cercle.io/ .
